DDOS mitigation software use case from Peraton Labs / OPS 5G

David McBride

Thanks for your responses.  It's good to see so much enthusiasm for taking this on.

Ranny - since there seems to be consensus that the LFN Security Working Group is a good forum for this topic, I would like to request that the working group take an action item to develop a recommendation for which project(s) in which the Peraton Labs DDOS work should take place. Could we set a tentative deadline of Feb 28?  Let me know your thoughts.

I'd like to suggest the following plan:
  1. Attend the Peraton Labs briefing (I will ask them to add your names to the invitation when it becomes available)
  2. Schedule one or more meetings of the LFN Security Working Group to discuss the issue and to develop a recommendation.  I can request that Peraton and/or OPS 5G folks attend those meetings, or not, as you prefer.
David

Hi David,

We can certainly review and provide recommendations regarding the fit of the DDoS work. The LFN TAC may also have some inputs here. Please keep in mind that both the TAC and Security Forum are both advisory in nature.

We don’t have recurring meetings of the Security Forum but rather set up ad-hoc ones when necessary. Please feel free to propose some dates and times in which the Peraton folks might be available to meet with the Forum.

Regards,

Ranny.
